Alabama Telephone Consumers:
This week a bill is being considered that would deregulate telephone
services in the state of Alabama. If passed, the Communication Reform
Act of 2005 will reduce the Public Service Commission's jurisdiction
over telephone services.

If House Bill 211 and Senate Bill 114 are successful, prepare for:
Rate increases
Re-monopolization of the Alabama telephone industry
Potential loss of telephone services in rural communities
A decline in quality of telephone services

All Alabama telephone consumers will be affected. Become part of a
growing number of participants opposed to this bill by emailing your
state representative today or call (334) 242-7600 for House bill 211
and (334) 242-7800 for Senate Bill 114.
